How to disable input monitoring for all other tracks when one track is record armed

Hello there,

first of all, thank you for this amazing DAW! I really like it (and especially the aspect of it that it’s open source software)!

So let’s say I have two MIDI tracks that are both connected to the input of the same MIDI keyboard, and I am in the “Auto Input” mode (well, you know, both “In” and “Disk” buttons with orange borders; can’t upload a second image due to new user restrictions).
When I now record-arm, let’s say, the piano track, the “drums” track still does its input monitoring:

So when I play now, I’ll hear both the piano and the drums.

And I know that I could force the drums to only follow the disk monitoring. But I don’t feel great forcing every track to use disk monitoring and only making “exceptions” for the tracks I want to record-arm. Also, this forces me to not only record-arm the track (which is visible directly from the editor view), but also to make that exception for the track I want to rec-arm (which requires me to select the track and then click, so it’s more difficult).
I can live with this (and well, I did for quite some time), but I feel like there must be a better way. Is there a better way?

(and no, I don’t have enabled the “Auto Input does ‘talkback’” setting)

Most likely you should go to Edit > Preferences > MIDI > MIDI Port Config and there set the MIDI kbd port to “follow selection”. Then it will be connected/disconnected from tracks as you select them.

On the mixer page, there is also a DIN-plug shaped icon for MIDI tracks which can be clicked to turn off MIDI input for that track.
