I just downloaded the source code, and didnt see anything to do what I usually do for compile somethin (./configure, make, make install).
How do I proceed from here? Im very new to ardour.
you would use “scons” instead of make.
http://ardour.org/building (I realize it’s a bit hard to find on the page)
But I suggest you use the official debian package. It has gotten pretty good recently, and they are very up-to-date (2.8.3 in testing, 2.8.4 in unstable, both with LV2 support etc.).
Just go for “apt-get install ardour”
if you want to download the .deb direcly.
Also you can try A/V linux by gmaq. debian based.
Both aptitude and apt-get doesnt find anything =/ dont know why. Maybe my repository (brazilian ones) does not have.
So I downloaded the .deb file, i just got a bit confused about a lot of options…
