How do I get the Griffin Powermate working on 2.8.14?

I guess that sums it all up… I’m on Ubuntustudio 12.10, so gizmod isn’t an option.

Somewhere along my searchings, I gleaned that this may have at one point been a feature in Ardour, but might have been removed? I don’t know.

Any info would be awesome

Hi Superdave,

I implemented the Powermate code a few years ago; it will “probably” work if you build Ardour with “scons POWERMATE=1”

However, be aware that the Powermate only has (IIRC) 16 steps per revolution. The resolution is so low that it doesn’t work very well as a jog/shuttle wheel. I was excited to see it work but in practice it was disappointing.
