How do I copy/paste drum fill to different project?

Hi Gang – what is the easiest/best way to copy a drum fill I’ve painstakingly created in one Ardour project into a different project? I thought this would be easy by selecting the 6 bars of the midi drums, and then doing right mouse button/selected regions/export,

but as far as I can tell this only copies one of the selected bars (they are each a separate region).

Thanks

For some reason it works for me to select multiple regions and export them the way you described.

Perhaps one option for you is “bounce to clip library” instead of exporting them. That is how i would do it, depending on the use case.
You a) select the regions in grab mode b) right click and go in the popup-menu to “bounce without processing” you c) give the regions a prefix and make sure to tick the “clib library” box, then you d) bounce it.
You can then see the bounced regions in the editor list (shortcut “shift +l”) and then simply drag and drop them from the editor-list to a new track, either same session or new session.
path to clib-library per default is ~/.local/share/sounds/clips (on linux, else i don’t know).

For me it is not that easy to explain it, i made a short video, it might help, it might confuse matters even more
Good luck, i hope this might help as an idea.

I was in a hurry, but now decided to upload the video to a youtube channel, cause the former link is temporary, in case someone finds this thread in a year or such

Edit: As the other link to the video was only tmp for 2 days, i removed it.
