Thanks a lot Ardour team !

oh how dare you
Nice work, piilou
This sounds interesting and almost disjointed but in a good way - itβs a bit hazy / sleepy but not overbearing or anything.
Could you share a bit about the recording process and mixing? I really like the drum sound and bass and arrangement generally. It all fits together nicely and really works for the composition.
Thanks a lot for your listening and comment !
The recording process is pretty straightforward here. I first play a track with acoustic guitar and singing, to fix the structure. Then I layer on top drum, bass, voices, guitar and violin ; and finally I mute the first track. The captures are pretty raw. I play the entire song everytime, no cut nor copy here. Drum is recorded with a kick mic and a single overhead mic (D5 AKG). I had to saturate a little the drum to make it stand out. I used for this song simple, yet effective, plugins like freeverb, ACE delay and a little bit a filtering. The bass is recorded in a direct input. As there is quiet strong dissonances (2nd), I kept the bass signal pretty untouched. More harmonics with an overdrive would rapidly sound too harsh.
I find this charming and thank you for sharing production details.
World needs more polished turd. NO!
