Help installing Ardour 2.8.2 in 64-bit Jaunty Jackalope

Hello,
I was wondering if anyone could please help me. I am new to Ubuntu, and could not find a forum that talked about this. Maybe I am blind, but I nedd some help installing it. I have downloaded it. Now I am wondering where am I supposed to extract the downloaded folder to?
Thank you for your time and patience.

You can find Ardour in the package manager (in the terminal, enter: sudo synaptic).

If you downloaded the source from here, you have to unpack the archive somewhere in your pc, and then take a look at http://ardour.org/building to know how to build it.

Anyway, if you are new to Ubuntu, I suggest you to install the ready-to-run package from the package manager.

As I posted in the other thread you posted in;)

You would want to download the appropriate file from there, then open it with the Add/Remove Programs dialog (I believe that is what its called, been some time since I used Ubuntu). If you download the file from Ardour’s website, what you are getting is the source code that would need to be compiled before it could be installed.
