Gain envelope: direct visual feedback

Is there any tool or plugin to make a gain envelope that shows the effect on the sound wave directly, in the same way Audacity’s envelope tool does?

I need a live visual feedback on the sound wave while editing the envelope but unfortunately Audacity lacks functionalities with the envelope tool, such as multiple point selection and envelope copying/pasting.

We deliberately chose not to do this in Ardour. We believe that most of the time, using visualizations for mixing and editing is generally a mistake.
