Gain envelope being duplicated on delete/split? Ardour 7.1.0

I just upgraded from Ardour 6.9 to 7.1, and I’m encountering a new behavior in the program which is making it harder to edit my podcast, but I can’t figure out how to disable it.

If I delete or split a region, the gain envelope from the original region seems to get replicated on both halves of the split track. Here’s a video example:
