From Ardour midi track to score

Hi,

I wish to make a score from my Ardour midi tracks, so, what I did is :

  1. Ardour → Session → Fragment export
  2. I select my two midi tracks
  3. I export my two .mid files : one is 1.5 kbyte (vocal) but the other (piano 2) is only 26 bytes (?).
  4. When I put my files in MuseScore2, the first .mid file is OK but the second (piano 2) seems to be empty.

Can someone please help me ? And is my way a right one, is MuseScore2 a fine choice ?

Can’t help with 1st one.
But MuseScore 2 is quite outdated.
I’m using version 4 for my daily scoring

26 Bytes is generally an indicator of an empty file. The export did not succeed how you expected.

I have also noticed this. I have lua script that automatically open midi regions in MuseScore and I noticed in more recent versions fof Ardour if the session is not saved or not saved to snapshot, midi regions will open up blank and they will show as empty and at 26 b in the project folder.

This is probably something for Paul and Robin to address, but for now I would just try saving your session first before exporting the midi files.
