Fades aren't working 7.2

Since upgrading from 7 fades are no longer working on selected clips.
When dragging them any amount of space past 1 bar it reverts to 1 bar, but still doesn’t work.

Edit: For reference I’m on AVLinux enlightenment edition.

This was fixed in a newer nightly build, there is an updated Ardour bundle of 7.2.123 which has VST3 bus support and the Fade issue fixed. Read down in the release announcement for that last MXDE-EFL ISO, you can grab that updated bundle in the release announcement:
