Fade in no effect on volume level

Hi newbie here
I have click and dragged a fade in on a region then selected a slow fade in
however the fade does not seem to have any effect on the volume of the track at the marked fade in region?
how do I do it thought i had followed the steps

Check Session > Properties > Fades > Region Fades Active

If that doesn’t help, include a screenshot showing the region with the fade(s)

Thanks PaulRegion fades are all active under that menu
Will send a shit but it is just a curve I dragged on the track
