Hi. I have a music project that sounds great in Ardour. When I export it it crackles. I am exporting as CD Red Book with Shaped Noise Dithering and Normalization set to -1.00 db. (I have also tried other dithering settings and no normalization, but I get the same result).
Why is my exported file crackling?

Could it be that the problem is the player that you use to check the exported file (e.g. VLC using 150% volume)?
Other than that the only reason I can think of, would that that you’re using realtime export, and there are dropouts.
Which version of Ardour are you using?
Does the session play normally?
Can you upload a short excerpt of the exported file and/or show the output of
sndfile-info /path/to/the/exported/file.wav
Here is the sndfile:
tibius@69molotron:~/Desktop$ sndfile-info The\ Coast\ (Working)_r1_2025-09-21_16.46.wav

However, now that I check it in Audacity, it may just be VLC. lol Will report back if there are further problems…
