Edit MIDI region in MuseScore

Hi
How could I edit MIDI regions in MuseScore.
Like I double click on a MIDI region and it open in MuseScore.
Or at least I can edit notes on a musical 5 lines staff, whatever the program.
The point is to move away from the piano roll.

There is no way to do that inside Ardour.
However, you can score a project in MuseScore or Rosegarden to begin with and then “pipe” MIDI output to Ardour for mixing and mastering. You will need JACK backend to do that.

You can “pipe” MIDI output from both MuseScore and/or Rosegarden to Ardour via Jack. The limitation with MuseScore is that you can output only one channel (with MuseScore2 at least…). With Rosegarden you can output multiple MIDI streams, but you need to create virtual MIDI devices manually: [Musescore] This way you can create as much midi streams/tracks as you want and they all appear in Jack and can be piped to the other programs, Ardour included. UPDATE!!! I didn’t get MuseScore3 snap package to work properly, but the .AppImage works as expected (don’t forget to make the file executable after downloading it). Now the details: First enable Jack connection: Edit->Preferences->I/O, check JACK Audio Server and all other boxes in that section. Run “a2jmidid -e” in terminal. In MuseScore3 open mixer View->Mixer, and for each part designate different port, while the number of channel for each port remains 1. [Musescore3] [Ardour3]
