Drum loop to midi

I have some audio drum loops with great timing and beats but the drum sounds are not the greatest, and therefore I’d like to make midi loops out of them.
The Ardour feature of polyphonic audio to midi is unable to convert audio drums to midi for some reason. Are you aware of any alternative workflow to solve that task?

You could try with a Trigger, there’s one with LSP-plugin. Well, it’s an alternative solution…

Seconding Daniele, the LSP MIDI trigger sensor (audio in, midi out) should be able to do this for you
