how do you shift a region from track to track without having it drifting along the time line ?
Is there a mouse-key combination for dragging it so that it does not move along the time line if you don’t have a steady hand ?

In the latest versions, there is an edit mode “Lock” ( in addition to Slide & Splice ) which locks regions on the timeline. Use button2 to override if you want to slide them.

Not sure if this is by design, but I have to hold both Button1 & Button2 to drag without shifting.
