I’m going to buy a control surface
Is the Korg Nanokontrol2 plug and play fully compatible with Ardour?
Or are there any similarly priced (£50) good alternatives?
I know this topic has been aired before, but wondered if previous problems have now been resolved. I couldn’t find it in the list of control surfaces in preferences, or does it qualify as generic?
Many thanks
Mine works for me with Ardour / Mixbus on Linux. My memory isn’t clear, but I might have had to jump through a hoop or two to get the Korg Kontrol Editor running under WINE, in order to toggle the behavior of one control between “Momentary” and “Latched” (or whatever they call the non-momentary option).
I’m using the Korg nanokontrol Studio which I have written a midi map for that is part of the Ardour package. Works like a charm.
Thanks to both of you for your helpful advice.
Robert, do you mean that the midi map you wrote is now part of an Ardour
binary?
Many thanks
Yes, it’s called Korg_nanoKONTROL_Studio.map
Many thanks
I could not find Korg NanoKontrol in the control surfaces list. How do I
select it?
You go Edit > preferences > control surfaces > generic MIDI > show protocol settings (bottom right of the window) > MIDI bindings
(of course, in the “incoming MIDI” should go your MIDI interface).
Thanks, that is really helpful and I dont think I would have worked it out
myself!
