How do I make an audio track completely passive / non responsive to any changes/edits from a console without previously disabling this option.
Each track is always reacting to CTRL+SHIFT+ pressing MUTE (but SOLO state can be locked).
I want to set a pair of tracks as completely untouchable sources of sound without a chance of changing it by mute, solo, fader, monitor group buttons, etc.
Even if I make a track hidden or frozen, it will still react to some downstream edits.
The reason for my intention is: I use a track and its reversed phase copy as a gate (by adding a compressor to one of two tracks). After I lower the threshold of a compressor on one track it slightly changes due to compressor activating and outputs the difference but the rest of sound remains muted by reversed phase.
After I set this kind of gating, I route resulting sound to a bus. This bus now becomes my primary source of sound but it’s two channel sources upstream must stay as set previously and never be changed by any console button, ever, to keep phases muted.
Is it possible to override MUTE and SOLO and all other downstream manipulations of a track?
