EDIT: the script folder is indeed currently missing . Fix underway
Nice. The latest version 9.rc works perfectly.
Thanks for checking. looks like we need an -rc7 soon.
I just installed Ardour 9.0.0 from the nightly and it seems to work fine. However now Mixbus 11.2.27 doesn’t work correctly. It just opens the splash screen when opened from the desktop icon then disappears. Opening it in terminal gives different errors depending on what I launch from /opt/bin/
/opt/Mixbus-11.2.27/bin$ ./mixbus-11.2.27
./mixbus-11.2.27: error while loading shared libraries: libardourcp.so: cannot open shared object file: No such file or directory
/opt/Mixbus-11.2.27/bin$ ./mixbus11
$ ardour-request-device: watched PID no longer exists - releasing device.
ardour-request-device: watched PID no longer exists - releasing device.
The first returns to the prompt, the second doesn’t until I Ctrl-C. I tried using several sessions as arguments that worked fine before but both failed. libardourcp.so exists in /opt/Mixbus-11.2.27/lib/libardourcp.so and in /opt/Ardour-9.0.0/lib/libardourcp.so
Audio playback seems good in other applications.
Is there anything in the Ardour installer that could have caused this? I installed Ardour.9.0.rc6.49 a couple of days ago and had no problems.
System is Debian Trixie with Pipewire 1.4.2
Actually I should give more info.
I tried uninstalling/reinstalling Mixbus, no change.
It did open one time and open a session with one of the symlinks (don’t remember which) but the output had changed to main L/R from my usual PW Equalizer Sink (which is still active) but I tried to change it and the EQ Sink was not available in Routing Grid. Also tried safe mode but no joy. Now it won’t start and just shows above errors.
Edit shortly later: Tried it again with /opt/Mixbus-11.2.27/bin/mixbus11 to double check the errors. This time it loaded but no audio. Checked Audio/MIDI Setup and it had switched back to ALSA for some reason. Reset to JACK/Pipewire and it’s working.
Weird but now there’s nothing to fix so ignore this. Possibly it is not even related to the Ardour install. I’ll leave the post as a comment on how weird Linux audio can get sometimes.

This will never have worked. You always need to use ./mixbus11 in that location, or the system-wide installed Mixbus11 (usually in /usr/local/bin/). The installer will also have created a Desktop shortcut to launch Mixbus.
heh
Well, there is nothing specific about Linux Audio here … but yes GNU/Linux grants great power to users that allows one end up in mysterious situations, sometimes unexpectedly so ![]()
Anyway I’m glad you managed to get things working.
