It was fully recorded, mixed and mastered using Debian and Ardour.

How did you record everything, if you don’t mind me asking? Hardware amps? Full band setup? I generally like the aesthetic, especially the drum sound - it fits this type of music really well in my opinion but at the same time, I think a more aggressive guitar sound would elevate the music more. Nothing fancy or anything, just running the guitar through a tube screamer and a DS2 for instance. Similarly the bass could do with having a bit more bite and being a bit more up front in the mix.
But I don’t want to criticise or anything because this is a demo after all Plus it’s a nice listen as-is and I think you’ve done well here

Thanks for your kind words. Don’t apologize for your criticism. I generally agree with you! Even though the cassette was released recently, it was recorded a year ago.
We recorded the drums at the same time as the first guitar (which was monitored through a CaptorX + cab IR during recording, then re-amped afterward, so a physical amp was indeed used).
Then, later, we recorded the bass (also amplified through a physical amp), the vocals, and the doubled guitar track.
Even though I like that guitar sound on the demo, since the recording, I’ve turned up the gain on the Proco Rat to get a dirtier sound.
As for the bass, it was intentional on this recording to keep it a bit in the background. Our bassist had never played bass before our first rehearsal; so a year ago, her playing was still too “dynamic” and sometimes a little off-tempo. As she’s improved since then, she’ll be brought more to the forefront on the next recording. Unfortunately, someone more skilled than me will be handling that, so it won’t be done in Ardour, since he doesn’t use it.
