OK, I used the “Patch Selector” to add a program change to a specific track.
The problem is that, as usual, I did not select the correct MIDI channel when I made the program change.
The Patch Selector does not seem to be able to clear the program change. How do I get rid of it?

I suppose the usual delete operator can work here.
In Internal Edit Mode (press E), shift + right-click on the patch-change marker.
Or in internal edit mode, just click it, and press the Delete key.
It doesn’t show its selected status very well (i.e. at all).
Thanks. I’ve changed the way I’m handling patch selection and doing it inside the MIDI track instead of in the track controls on the left. This is working perfectly.
My question was unclear.
When I right-click the track controls, where the fader, mute, solo, and other buttons are located, a context menu shows up. It has an option labeled “Patch Selector…” When the window pops up I get a choice of channels, patches, and MSB, LSB settings. I can set a patch selection here without a MIDI region on the track. After that, it selects the patch pretty reliably, but I never figured out how to un-select a patch from this box.
