Hello,
I’ve recorded a track in stereo, but I want to
convert it to a mono track/region.
I’ve tried to use the “Make mono regions” feature
(by clicking with right mouse on the region) but
nothing happens.
What I’ve done wrong?

Look over in your regions bar. Two new mono regions were created. You can drag them over into mono tracks. The function doesn’t do anything with the stereo tracks, only the regions.
Some of the elements in Ardour are more abstract than what you may be used to. Tacks hold Playlists which are made up of Regions. Try not to confuse the three.
