As always, thank you all for this excellent software. I get great value out of it every day.
I’ve started using an Akai MIDIMix control surface. It works well enough and sure beats using a mouse to control faders.
The difficulty I’m having is that when I’m in the editor or mixer windows, I haven’t found a good way to identify which tracks are within the currently selected fader bank. I’ve carefully watched the UI as I use the bank left and bank right buttons and I don’t see anything changing. I end up toggling mute or something to see what flashes on the monitor.
I have looked through the manual, so If I’m missing a setting or something, I apologize.
So, is there a way to look at the editor or mixer windows and know which tracks are within the selected fader bank?
If I’m not missing something, here is an Idea:
Since Ardour knows the currently selected bank, and the bank width, it would be great if there was something in the UI that showed which tracks were within the currently selected control surface bank.
I’ve had some exposure to the Behringer X32 Compact digital mixer. It’s a 40 channel mixer with 16 sliders. In the LCD display it draws a yellow box around the channels that are currently within the area affected by the physical sliders.
