I am looking for recommendations on how to connect an instrument mic to my computer. I have an xlr to usb cable already, but it is cheap and introduces a ton of noise. How do you connect your mic?

You use an audio interface with an analog input with a microphone pre-amp and connect your microphone to the interface (using an XLR cable).
