I’d like to be able to run compression on a region, not using a plugin, but in the same way I can run normalization on a region, so that I get visual feed back (ie a changed waveform) on what the compression did.
Any way of doing that in Ardour.

Install YASS, with YASS running, direct the output of any track(s) you want to see the waveform resulting from any plugins in real time.
