Cold Whisper - Pale Blue Dot

Hi all.

Today I released the next song of my "Scorched Earth” album, called "Pale Blue Dot”.
This time, big thanks go to Kati and Gebhard from the befriended band “Moving Call” for performing the duet vocals.

Again, here’s a list of things I/we used:

  • Audio interfaces / microphones:
    • Behringer UPhoria 404HD
    • SM-57 for vocals
  • MusE: for MIDI sequencing (drums, bass, synths)
  • Ardour 6.9: for recording, cutting, mixing, and mastering
  • Drums: DrumGizmo + The CrocellKit
  • Bass: based on the Fender Jazz Bass soundfont I created a while ago (see the Your creations Polyphone Soundfonts forum)
  • Clean Guitars: played with my Gibson Les Paul and recorded “direct-in”
  • Used Plugins:
    • mostly Calf and LSP (parametric EQs, compressors)
    • Guitarix (GxStudioPreamp)
    • ZynAddSubFX and FluidSynth for the Synths

Fun fact:
Since I was too lazy to tune down my guitar down a semitone, I used “Varispeed” to record the guitars at a slightly higher speed, by going +1 semitone. :slight_smile:

Good song, a good performance, and a good message. Not to diminish anyone, but I have to say that Katrin Leinfellner’s voice is outstanding! :slight_smile:
