Last time I looked, SooperLooper could do everything that Mobius could (and runs on Linux). It has no “track” limits, and very configurable MIDI control options. However, it would not be trivial to set things up to work the way that Rachel uses Live in that video (not impossible, but definitely not trivial).
I too would like to see Ardour get there.
Yes, I have looked at (and played with) Sooperlooper and it’s an incredibly powerful, but complex, setup.
My post was a gentle nudge towards seeing something a but more like Live in Ardour, with the same flexibility and ease of use. It seems it’s going in that direction, and that excites me.

We don’t make release date announcements ahead of time. Ardour 7.0 will be released when we think it is ready to be released.
