one thing which annoys me in nearly every project is the missing (fast) overview of the panning in the mixer.
Is it possible to add colours for left right (such as orange and green) or maybe (as option) a knob view like the input trim? For width there could be another knob.

The answer to your question is no, I do not believe there is a way to do either currently. I would suggest a feature request though in Mantis, the colors thing in particular seems to make sense, I doubt the knobs would happen though.
