This time the music is not mine. But I recorded, edited and mixed on Ardour.
This genre is called “Chorinho”, brazillian instrumental music.
The EP have 3 instrumental tracks. Recorded with a Behringer C1, Boya BY-BM58 and a Boya BY-BM6060, on Debian and a TEYUN Q24 as interface. Low-budget equipment, but a high passion for music.
According to me, there is a « knowledge », a skill, and a great « sensibility » ( sorry, I don’t want to use the word « feeling »), in this music.
Impressed how U make it sound with « simple tools »
Hats off!!!
Thanks so much for sharing.
Well to get it short, in french, I would say : « ça sonne du feu de Dieu »!!! Sorry sorry.

Back when Gilberto Gil was the culture minister for Brasil, there was a serious effort to distribute laptops with Ardour on (along with a bunch of other FLOSS creative-leaning software) to the favelas.
I have a nice recording of him singing and then talking about this, done as part of an interview.
Not the sort of music I usually listen to, so I don’t know what the genre normally sounds like, but it was very pleasant. I think I liked the second piece best as it’s more melancholic/introspective. The musicians are obviously very skilled and you’ve done a great job with the recording and mixing.
Sounds great man. Impressive. The ambience is very nice. Also not the style I often listen to, but I do visit Mexican restaurants fairly often so it brings that back. Love it! Thanks for sharing.
