Changing Record Keybinding?

New user and slowly getting the hang of things. Other Daw’s I use the R key activates Record mode and starts the transport as you work on a track.

Looking in the keybinding I do not see that the R key is even assigned.

And there’s No Keybinding listing for the Control Bar Record button which shows as Shift+R in the Tool tip when you hover the button? It is not listed either.

I’m finding it a clunky workflow to always have to use the mouse to activate recording and then hit the spacebar to start recording as I work. I’m used to simply arming a track and hitting R to start the transport and start recording.
Is there a way to add this as a key binding?

Shift+Space to start recording, Control-Space to abort (and return playhead to where recording started).

Thank You @DHealey That was right under my nose. I was looking for just “Record” so missed it. I changed it like you did to just R. Easy once you find the one you need to change.
It’s still 2 actions instead of one. In Sonar if the track is armed pressing R starts the transport as well.

Thanks @SpotlightKid That’s another option as well. I still prefer just one finger approach.

UPDATE: Thanks once again I looked for your short cut " Shift Spacebar" found it and changed that to “R” - Now it works exactly like Sonar. -

After using a DAW for 20 years it’s nice to use the same key-bindings if possible and looks like this might be easy to do.
