Changing instrument on a track during play

I am using Ardour 6.9, VPO, sfizz

Is there a way to Change instrument during playback on a track?
i.e. switch from sustained to pizz cello

Currently, I create a separate track for each sound.

Hi!
You need to use VPO .sfz files marked like “KS”. They include all types of articulation and you can swith between them through C2, C3 etc.

All works as expected. Here’s a video example - the green notes in the ardour’s midi track switch the patches (they are marked by red color in the sfizz’s keyboard):
