Change sharps to flats in tooltips?

hello everyone!
I’ve been using Ardour since Ardour 2 and absolutely love it! One minor tweak I’ve been unable to find though is the option to change how the piano roll tooltip displays sharps and flats. When you hover over a row in the piano roll the tooltip tells you what note it is, but always displays the black keys as sharps. Say I’m working in C minor, and I want to draw an Eb, I have to translate it to D# in my head each time. It is admittedly a minor () issue, but after a few years its still slowing me down lol.
Does anyone know if this setting can be changed?
I’ve noticed that DrumGizmo and other plugins display tooltips specific to themselves (RideBell instead of, say F#4 or similar), so it might not even be an Ardour setting in the first place.

You can use custom midnam files to map sharps to their relative flats, I can see if I can write one for you if you want.

Hey, sorry for the slow response, and thanks for the reply! I appreciate the offer, but midnam files is enough to get me started if i decide it’s worth the trouble. I was hoping it was just some quick setting I missed (every time I’ve looked into it I accuse myself of procrastinating on the tunes and stop quickly lol), and I don’t think it’d be worth your trouble since I’d want to dive in and understand what it is anyways. But that’s really great info to have, and sounds like a good thing to understand. I’m really into the MIDI protocol, but haven’t dug into it “in the box” yet. Thanks again
