Carol of the Hells (Christmas evil version)

Dear friends,

Christmas is almost upon us, which means I did it again: I took a nice sweet Christmas song, and made it metal and evil! :smiling_imp:
This year it was the turn of “Carol of the Bells”, which was suggested by a friend:

It’s shorter than some of my attempts in the past, but it was probably for the best, as I could hear the flames of hell calling for me already
Please do let me know what you think about it, and I take advantage of this to wish you all some happy holidays!

Most Epically Demonic as always. I love how the intensity picks up in both volume and double kick. My only “criticism” is that I kept waiting for shredding harmonized guitars to completely take over main theme. I was envisioning John Williams getting hooked from the conductor’s podium with a pointy headstock just as he’s really getting into it, Odin thrashing in the front row. The gong finale was perfect, I would have been well and truly disappointed without it.

Rock on! :metal:

@befloibent ahahah you made me chuckle loudly reading your comment :joy:
Thanks a lot for your kind words, I’m happy you liked it! I’ll keep shredding harmonized guitars for future endeavours, as I’ve been lazy with my playing lately, and I’m afraid I wouldn’t have been able to comply

Excellent, fun and ominous, why wish for more? Much better than Liliac attempt, you may want to contact Melody Cristea so she could use your piece and you could make a full vocal version with her voice dubbing the shredding to come with all ye faithful

@Loki_Harfagr thanks, I’m glad you liked it! To be honest I did not know Liliac, or their version of the song, but hearing you found my version better than the one of people with 500k subscribers definitely made my day :joy:

FYI, I did end up releasing an EP with all my Christmas tracks, eventually: some I released here in the past, others are new. You can listen to it here (or on Bandcamp, Mirlo, Spotify, etc.):

As usual, everything was recorded, mixed and mastered with Ardour, which goes without saying!
