Cardinal slows down Ardour

Running latest Cardinal (also happend with an older version) slows down the Ardour GUI completely. The playhead is jumping ca. 5 cm. Audio is unaffected.

Load Ardour, load e.g. the patch Etherpad. Loop some notes. CPU usage is not the problem. This also happens when the Cardinal GUI is invisible.

Does not happen with REAPER.

Ubuntu 24.04, Gnome, Wayland

The LV2 version does not seem to have this issue; the VST3 one does. I’d suggest using the LV2 one for now, we’ll interact with the Cardinal team to get to a fix for the VST3 version.
