Why can’t I open Ardour?
You need a valid audio device configured otherwise Ardour has nothing to record from or playback to.

Just to clarify a bit more, in your screenshots you have:
Input Device: None
Output Device: None
So even if Ardour let you open it, you wouldn’t hear or be able to record anything. You need to set a device in those options.
