Bye Bye, Bad Oldesloe

A song also found on Lukas Meister’s latest album: https://youtu.be/BScD9-zjhGk

Here’s his website: http://www.lukasmeister.de

Lukas had brought this Beyerdynamic TG V56 with him, and it suits his voice really well. For the “whistle guitar solo” I copied the part to another track and applied some different settings to it. For the guitar I used an inexpensive LD Systems di box. Recording on a Soundcraft Impact digital console directly into Ardour via USB.

I used Harrison XT-LC for the guitar, Voxengo Voxformer (via LinVST) on the vocals, x42-eq, Bricasti M7 impulse responses for reverb. XT-MC and Voxengo Elephant for mastering. Perhaps TDR Nova (dynamic EQ, freeware, via LinVST) on vocals, can’t remember. A little Calf Delay on the whistling.

Oh and I also did the stage decoration with the kitsch lamps, and I mounted the video camera and stuff. Video editing done in Lightworks on kxStudio 16.04.

I mastered this louder than older recordings and I’m a little unsure about this.

Still, I love the song and this guy! :slightly_smiling_face:

Still in the progress of starting my own business doing live sound, recording, video. In case you need this in southern Germany in the Tübingen/Stuttgart area… http://www.drni.de
