Hi everybody,
here’s a thing that made me crazy until I found the reason.
This is belonging to versions 6.9 and 7.1, both installed on my system.
So, what I’m talking about belongs to both versions, maybe to some more, who knows.
What happened:
I have a 1,1 GB wav-file recorded on a little tascam recorder (rehearsal).
The file is stored on a NFS-share on my NAS.
I started with a new project, imported the file, everything seems to be okay, no
Error message or something else.
I was expecting ~ 100 minutes of music, but what I found were only 11 minutes.
Tried this several times under different conditions, nothing really changed, but the tracks shortened at every new project. So I thought there’s an error belonging to the file and opened in VLC.
Everything was fine, VLC correctly showed 100 minutes.
Further investigations on my system showed that disk space was at 100%, so nothing at all
should have been imported (maybe 100% is just rounded up from 99.9…% which gives us some MByte space)
After freeing up some disk space, everything was fine, 100% (100 minutes) were imported.
The bug is: import should check if there’s enough space or stop with an error message
if it can’t copy the file into the project.
Ignoring the problem may result in a headache of the user
Best regards
Harry
