I wanted to say thanks to all those that made this project possible. I am a bit blown away.
My Use Case - I originally downloaded Ardour a few years back just as DAW that I could perform virtual sound checks with. It did the job it was supposed to do. Over the course of a year I began to use Ardour for a variety of other small projects and again did the job.
Recently, I imported twenty (20) 900meg tracks (at once) so I could mix down a live concert. Why am I blown away…
#1 - All tracks imported no Issues
2# - All tracks automatically converted from 48k to 44k sampling (took time but thats a lot of data)
3# - All tracks play simultaneously no issues, with plug-ins, etc…
4# - all this done on a 2012 i7 Mac Mini with Opencore legacy patcher on Ventura
Maybe this is old hat for some but quite refreshing for me. Thanks
Good to hear. You might want to check out Harrison LiveTrax, which is based on Ardour. It is not available free-of-charge, but doesn’t cost much, and is specifically tailored to FOH/Live sound, with virtual soundchecks being a core feature. No plugin support, however.
Appreciate that Paul, but I have been super happy with Ardour and have my Arturia setup now as a control surface. So at rehearsals and gigs I can record, stop/play at the click of a button, then of course if I capture something magically I can just tweak inside Ardour.
