I would assume the developers would rather prefer a bug report at http://tracker.ardour.org/my_view_page.php instead of pasting the stuff here.

You’ve likely accidentally moved the playhead out to a very distant position on the timeline, which is known to cause issues with time calculations (ardour’s timeline extends for longer than the expected life of the sun). Work is underway as I write this to reimplement such calculations, but that may not apply to your situation. If this situation is repeatable, please file a bug at http://tracker.ardour.org/ with a recipe to trigger it.

@paul

Is there anything else that I could add to make this bug report better? It crashes 100% of the time on my machine. I’ve totally uninstalled Ardour 4.4 with the provided script, cleared out all ardour cache locations that I could think about. ~/.confit/ardour4 restarted etc… and this happens.

I noticed also that if I do not touch the tracpad but instead use my mouse I can navigate around but then if I try to record something, it’ll start recording then just lock up and I have to kill the process.
