Best practice for using B-Step in arrangement

Hi all, since b-step has been open sourced I gave it a go and have to say that it is a lot of fun. Especially the probability and retrigger functions save a lot of time, otherwise spent micro editing midi notes. It also fits perfectly into the track structure of Ardour, just insert it before an instrument plugin and connect the midi pin, done. No need to setup annoying midi track to track connections.

There is one thing I struggle with. Using it for arranging. So far, all I found was automating global mute.
I understand that it was intended for live interaction via midi controller, but I was wondering if there is another way.
