Hi all,

I’m trying the bender automation in Ardour.
In a midi track I imported a midi file (plugin Surge, default instrument).
I add a bender automation to this midi track, drawing slanted segments. It is set to state: play, mode: linear (or discrete). The channel is correct. But when I play the track nothing happens, there is no effect. Why?

I use Ardour 6.9.0 on Ubuntu 18.04

Does the plugin respond to the pitch bend wheel?

To diagnose the issue you could add the “ACE MIDI Monitor” plugin (comes with Ardour) just before the synth.

That will display all MIDI messages passing through, and you can see if pitch-bend messages are sent to the plugin.
