Ardour has a command line option
-c, --name <name> Use a specific backend client name, default is ardour
What is its purpose?
It’s useful with JACK and NSM. You can change the name that Ardour uses to register itself with JACK and the session-manager.
When Ardour connects to JACK, the jack-ports names are prefixed with the client-name. So it’s potentially useful in case you use multiple instances of Ardour.
