The system language is still ‘English’.
Edit: Thunar now speaks German; I was able to change it using dpkg-reconfigure locales. I love it when it works—great, functional system, AVL MX.

AVL 23.5 was kind of a proof of concept more minimal release and I honestly forget what locales were put in by default, never feel you need to ‘shut up’, as an English-only User I need feedback about these kinds of things to make improvements. Enlightenment also has a ‘Language’ setting in case that helps, these are things I don’t test personally, putting together the rest of the system is extremely time consuming so the more I can learn from User experiences elsewhere in the world the better it is for all. As you see AVL-23 was a big step from AVL-21 and a lot of people went away mad without asking some basic questions that would help both themselves and me so your patience and questions are very much appreciated!
See if Menu–>Settings–>Settings Panel–>Language–>Language Settings gets German in the remaining places… *Note my own AV Linux utilities and File Actions are not translated, those parts remain in English only, I don’t have a translation team… 
Upcoming AVL 25 will now allow all of those settings on first run so it will not be so convoluted…
Some users who use Linux may not be familiar with the progress of Linux and may not be happy about simply typing a few words into the console.

The best place for feedback is the MX Linux Respins forum, years ago I had my own AVL Forum but it was too much for one person to keep up on top of everything else so I use the Respins section of the MX Linux forum as my unofficial place to answer help queries.

Just be aware that AV Linux 25 is very close to release and it has numerous enhancements and improvements even over 23.5, but of course I will help if I can…
