Audio Bus and output settings

Hi all,
into the input settings for an Audio Bus track, I select Audio track “A”.
Why does “Master” remain selected in the output settings for track “A”? This way, track “A” has two outputs: to the Bus and to the Master, and it sounds doubled. So I have to manually deselect "Master " in the output settings for “A”. Why isn’t “Master” deselected automatically?

Thanks,

There are multiple workflows where it is desirable to maintain that connection. For instance two that come to mind off the top of my head:

  1. Using a bus for Reverb (You can do this with the track output instead of the send if you want, though it is less flexible IMO)

  2. Parallel Compression

You are right. Mine was a particular situation, I sent 8 audio tracks in a Bus track to be able to have them “all together” in a single track. Ok, in this case the Master must be deactivated manually in the 8 tracks. One unpleasant thing I noticed is that sometimes the Master of some tracks turns on inexplicably.

If you change connections from the other end, using the track’s output connector dropdown to connect it to the bus. it will be an exclusive connection.

Consider using sends instead of direct connections; though in your case with only many-to-one connections it is fine.

But for parallel compression where a track feeds more than one bus, you may or may not run into issues: see On Delay Compensation & Recommendations for Routing
