Audio assaut Aural verb mutes session

Audio assault’s Aural verb causes a strange problem. When I put it in the channel it works normally. When I open the session again the whole session is muted. When I put the plugin bypass the sound is restored.

For some reason, the channel meter goes to the maximum when the plugin is active. Really weird. The same problem occurs with Ardour and Mixbus 32C. Latest versions in both.

AvLinux MXE latest version.

FWIW… I’ve never found that Plugin to work properly with Ardour and it was one of the earlier Audio Assault ports to Linux… I do use their Bass Studio and and their ReAmp Plugin seems to work pretty well although I haven’t updated it. The vibe I get from AA with their long times to respond is that they want to have Linux versions but they are not necessarily their top priority…

I’m not saying AV Linux is perfect by any means, far from it! Unless the Plugin doesn’t work at all (ie it needs a newer version of libc6) it is pretty unlikely any OS is to blame for Plugins not working. Ardour is providing most of the library mechanisms to support the Plugins and the Plugin developers are responsible for what they’re doing on their end. The OS is pretty far down the food chain for Plugins that do run but are malfunctioning.

Got in touch with them. They are about to update that plugin. By no means did I mean that the reason was AV linux, I just put it for information, which system I was working on.

In fact, Avlinux is the best I’ve ever had. And I use it every single day.

Ben@Harrison suggested using Robin’s meter to test what the Aural Verb outputs. So the fault must be in that plugin.
