Ardur was not fast enough when playing a loop

Hello,
I have trouble playing loops while editing.
Whenever I edit MIDI notes or audio regions in a loop while playing it, I get the message “Ardour was not fast enough”
The loop plays on and I hear my edits effect but still the message is a major annoyance.

What can I do?
