Having built non-VST Linux versions of Ardour for a while I started to build my first VST-enabled Ardour from revision 2903. I have the 2.3 VST SDK installed correctly. However, scons stops with the following error;
scons: *** Source vst/ardour_vst.exe.so' not found, needed by target/usr/local/lib/ardour2/ardour_vst.exe.so’. Stop.
Any help would be gratefully received.

The problem is now resolved. If anyone else has the same issue, the VST SDK I downloaded seemed to be the root of it. I tried another one from the German Steinberg site, and this one worked OK.
After all this I’m not sure if I will stick with it as there’s some nice LADSPA stuff and I appreciate the stability without Wine (I’m less stable with some wine running through me too), but it’s good to have it sorted!
