Has the release cycle changed?
Thought it would be bimonthly?
It is for minor releases, but not between major releases.
While there were fairly regular release from 5.0 to 5.12, 6.0 to 6.9 and 7.0 to 7.5 roughly every 2 months,
- 5.12 … 6.0 took around 2 1/2 years
- 6.9 … 7.0 took a bit over a year
- 7.5 … 8.0 was just over 3 month
