Is it perhaps worthwhile to release Ardour on Steam? I’d like to add it to my software collection, and the automatic update and time tracking features would be nice to have. I’m happy to support Ardour and would gladly pay for it again on Steam. However, I have no idea how much of a hassle releasing and maintaining a Steam entry is, and I suppose a one-time payment and 30% cut to Valve aren’t great for Ardour’s finances.

Can we get Steam achievements for mixdowns and number of tracks recorded?
