Ardour looses all MIDI connections, if device off during start up

Occasionally I forget to turn my MIDI keyboard on before opening Ardour. When I do, Ardour drops all the MIDI in and out connections to the keyboard. If it notice right away, I can restart Ardour without saving. Otherwise I have to manually reconnect the MIDI in and out on every MIDI track than needs them. Is there a better way to restore these?

(Using Ardour 6.9.0, Windows 10)

Hi, I have the same experience and haven’t found anything to do about it …
I also observed that, if you have multiple MIDI devices connected, the order in which they’re turned on can also create confusion …

For what it’s worth, I found a (convoluted) way of automatically reconnecting the Transport buttons of my keyboard if I turn it on after the Ardour session is opened … Not really applicable for the “music” ports as the tracks where they’re connected is really up to what you’re doing in the session …
