Ardour crashes when trying to open Drumgizmo UI

Hi, everyone!

This is my first post and I’m also an amateur in the field of Digital Audio. I have a Roland TD11-K drum and I recorded a MIDI sample to test Ardour and Drumgizmo. I’m following this tutorial. I was able to add a MIDI track and select Drumgizmo from the instrument list. But when I open the Mixer and double-click on Drumgizmo, Ardour closes itself. I’ve tried several times and it happens always.

Here are the details of my computer and the corresponding software:

OS: Ubuntu 18.04 64-bit
Processor: Intel® Pentium® Silver N5000 CPU @ 1.10GHz × 4
RAM: 4 Gb

Ardour version: 5.12.0 (installed from Ubuntu Software)
Drumgizmo version: 0.9.18.1, compiled and installed as described in the official Wiki.

First I thought that maybe my RAM is not enough to get Drumgizmo and/or Ardour working… but that should be a problem while loading a drumkit, not when trying to open the UI in the first place.

Thank you in advance for your help!

Sadly we cannot support distribution-provided versions of Ardour here. It is not possible for us to control all the parameters related to the build process.

Either contact the Ubuntu maintainers or download a free/demo copy from http://ardour.org/download and test that.

Note that Ardour is now at release 6.0 and 5.12 is considered “old”.

Hi, Paul. Thanks for your reply. I will do it.

You should then close this thread, for it won’t serve any purpose.

¡Saludos!
